This weekend while browsing a local thrift store I stumbled upon a Panasonic RC-6015 in excellent aesthetic condition. The price: $3.00 on sale for half price! Being relatively new to the world of flip clocks, I had no idea that it was collectable until I decided to google the model. As I carefully disassembled the clock I realized that the clock motor was not running and of course the bulb is out. When I plug the unit in I can feel slight vibrations and the motor turns ever so slightly, and if I give the motor a light flick with my finger it starts running pretty smoothly (keeps time very accurately) and doesn't stop until I unplug the unit. The problem is whenever i unplug the clock and then plug it back in, I have to go in and "jump start" the clock motor with my finger. Anyone have any ideas on how to resolve this issue and how much the clock is worth when in working order (excellent condition)? Any and all advice is appreciated!

Alcohol bath is the simplest. You should oil the shaft after cleaning.
Here is one of Mackey's videos, skip to the to see the cleaning procedure.

That clock would sell for $150.00 all day long. Sometimes on eBay people get excited and will go higher. Usually when people get in a bidding war (but there's no guarantee that will happen).~ Mackey Site Administrator
